ABSTRACT

This research was conducted in Sanden, Bantu! regency with the aim of: (1) determine the level of participation of farmers in onion cultivation technology adoption in Sanden, (2) determine the factors that affect farmers’ participation in technology adoption onion cultivationin Sanden.
The basic method used for this research is descriptive method with survey techniques. Samples were selected purposively village because there is a group of advanced and most prominent fanner onion cultivation, namely the village Srigading and Gadingrejo. From each village fanners random sample taken by 30 respondents and analyzed by multiple linear regression.
The results showed that: the average level of farm er participation in extension activities achieving a score of 14.67 out of a maximum score of 30 or reach 42.42%. Achievement scores for each element quite varied, which the largest is the farm ers follow the activities organized farm er groups (70.75%) and the lowest is to disseminate the results of extension to other farmers (1.75%). The average level of technology adoption onion cultivation reaches 74.90%. Factors that influence the adoption of onion cultivation technology is the attitude, motivation, participation of farm ers in extension, while age, education, land, and access to resources not affect the adoption of technology.
